The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christos Banasas in the 25th minute of play forced Chigüires De Mogadiscio's goalkeeper Peruanton Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vassilis Banasidis took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Peruanton Gayoso. Peruanton Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaio Sagrario was the one to do the kick off. If Petros Giannakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mamiek Sudaryono hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute, Xaven Lluba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Baladi Jorge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xaven Lluba during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Xaven Lluba hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Vassilis Banasidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Christos Banasas came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the ΠΑΟΚ FC fans jumped to their feet.
