The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dé Baron's late challenge caught a Galati Harbour Cats's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dé Baron helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes NFC Eagles 22 got a freekick which was hit by Dé Baron. Christiaan Been made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Zdroană in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Panait Acalinei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galati Harbour Cats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NFC Eagles 22 the free kick. Panait Acalinei hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Galati Harbour Cats's goal looked a bit too open when Dé Baron came free, but Manole Ghiondea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Sebastian Andone notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of NFC Eagles 22's Christiaan Been. Christiaan Been was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dé Baron scored 1-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manole Ghiondea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 23 played minutes NFC Eagles 22 got a freekick which was hit by Jurre van der Werff. If Liviu Soare had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute, Giovanni Rademaker made a precise shot to the right of Manole Ghiondea. Galati Harbour Cats's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After a rather tough play, Galati Harbour Cats's Fabian Minculescu got a free kick in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé Baron in the 36th minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Manole Ghiondea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manole Ghiondea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Giovanni Rademaker went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

After 52 played minutes NFC Eagles 22 got a freekick which was hit by Dé Baron. In the 60th match minute, Galati Harbour Cats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Minculescu to maneuver through the defense. Panait Acalinei made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Aurel Crainic. The corner led NFC Eagles 22's Robert-Jan Hermensen to fire away a dangerous shot which Manole Ghiondea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 72nd minute Chris Hollander managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Andreas Deinse scored 1-4 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manole Ghiondea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Robert-Jan Hermensen kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Christiaan Been took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurel Crainic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Zdroană in the 80th minute of play forced NFC Eagles 22's goalkeeper Christiaan Been to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Giovanni Rademaker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Manole Ghiondea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 88 minutes into the match, NFC Eagles 22's Andreas Deinse sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manole Ghiondea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabian Minculescu charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabian Minculescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of NFC Eagles 22 booed when Galati Harbour Cats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Minculescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 93 minutes into the game, Fabian Minculescu threw the ball into play from the sideline. NFC Eagles 22's Maurits Apotheker quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, NFC Eagles 22's Andreas Deinse got a free kick in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. NFC Eagles 22 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
