The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 33rdth minute of the game Celestino Toro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ROJO's Lino Bembe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nicolas Salvino kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Toro in the 36th minute of play forced ROJO's goalkeeper Lino Bembe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, ROJO's Javier Palben ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Donato Azeari. Donato Azeari yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Javier Palben made the kick off in the second half. ROJO's Nicolas Salvino got his second yellow card of the match in the 57th minute. The referee ordered Nicolas Salvino off the ground. Nicolas Salvino kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Donato Azeari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Palben, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Lino Bembe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severiano Fresco in the 76th minute. ROJO's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Ovidio Montes scored to the left of an out of position Lino Bembe, making the score, 1-3. After having played for 96 minutes, Javier Palben managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ROJO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Javier Palben was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched San Lorenzo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
