The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gilvan Chaves hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Gilvan Chaves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruben Benvido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rockets's zone, Siro Xabat stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Mazza came out of the goal and Siro Xabat tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo Mukenio's Ruben Benvido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbson Messias in the 8th minute of play. Apolo Tiso hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. A collision led to Deportivo Mukenio getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Siro Xabat hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Róbson Messias put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ruben Benvido. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Róbson Messias in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruben Benvido saved Deportivo Mukenio from getting behind. In the 37th match minute, Deportivo Mukenio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Tiso to maneuver through the defense. Thiago Silvan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gilvan Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ruben Benvido tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbson Messias in the 43rd minute of play forced Deportivo Mukenio's goalkeeper Ruben Benvido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Róbson Messias scored 0-3 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Benvido, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The supporters of Rockets booed when Deportivo Mukenio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Camerino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 played minutes Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Tales de Carvalho. The Deportivo Mukenio supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rockets's performance. The match ended with a win for Rockets.
