Rockets's Gilvan Chaves got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fausto Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Róbson Messias, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. After 6 minutes, Wilson Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reac Futebol Clube and the Rockets players grew even worse after the yellow card. Wilson Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Zézinho Tinoco took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamin Mazza. Benjamin Mazza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, Reac Futebol Clube's Fausto Leite got control of the ball when Samuca Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. During the 15th minute of the match Wilson Reis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Wilson Reis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 16 played minutes Rockets got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Terra. In the 20th minute Toninho Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Toninho Terra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fausto Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zézinho Tinoco in the 30th minute of play forced Rockets's goalkeeper Benjamin Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zézinho Tinoco took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benjamin Mazza. Benjamin Mazza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Rockets's Benjamin Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugo Machado in the 37th minute of play. Nildo Teles's late challenge caught a Rockets's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nildo Teles helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Reac Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Nildo Teles. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Róbson Messias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zézinho Tinoco got free with Benjamin Mazza in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adelino de Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benjamin Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After 59 minutes, Doriva Messias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reac Futebol Clube and the Rockets players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rockets booed when Reac Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Doriva Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 60 played minutes, Rockets's Tales de Carvalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fausto Leite came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rockets reached it. In the 63rd minute Ronaldo Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Mazza made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Zézinho Tinoco sent off a good shot on target. Hugo Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Mazza having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Adelino de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpected shot in the 74th minute by Zézinho Tinoco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Benjamin Mazza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zézinho Tinoco in the 76th minute. With a little luck, Rockets's Benjamin Mazza got control of the ball when Zézinho Tinoco tried to sneak it across the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Reac Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldo Gol came free, but Fausto Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rockets's zone, Zézinho Tinoco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Mazza came out of the goal and Zézinho Tinoco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Bilek during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pedro Bilek kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Nildo Teles hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Reac Futebol Clube walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
