In the 16th minute, Napoleon Wietrzychowski ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Romelio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Piotr Gecionis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Illan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. La Gallardeta's Paulo Romelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cezary Majkowski in the 22nd minute of play. Paulo Romelio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maciek Hana in the 23rd minute of the match. Carmelo Jeraldo lost his temper 31 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Śląsk Bytom booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmelo Jeraldo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Olaf Wielowiejski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Śląsk Bytom's Czeslaw Rakowski was substituted for Zdzislaw Jerzyk.
