Eliseu Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omar Tonio, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Léo Almeida struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Bonifacio Aurre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de São Paulo. Eliseu Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelino Tomi in the 29th minute of the match. Clodoveo Harri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Eliseu Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inter de São Paulo's Eliseu Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clodoveo Harri in the 42nd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Angelino Tomi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Inter de São Paulo's Eliseu Melo. Eliseu Melo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Inter de São Paulo's zone, Angelino Tomi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eliseu Melo came out of the goal and Angelino Tomi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseu Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Tomi in the 85th minute of play. If Leo Donostia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicasio Patxi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Melo having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Cacá Galvão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Inter de São Paulo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Iguazu the free kick. Cacá Galvão hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match.
