The referee showed Mirsaad Denisov the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Desportivo Coala booed when Şamaxı Bankirlər was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mirsaad Denisov didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Desportivo Coala defense, Yaqub Aydinov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chiquinho Guerra. The Desportivo Coala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chiquinho Guerra should have stopped the shot. After 11 played minutes Yaqub Aydinov rounded Desportivo Coala's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. In the 14th minute Muğan Färzäliyev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chiquinho Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vasif Abdulazamov the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Şamaxı Bankirlər protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vasif Abdulazamov had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Şamaxı Bankirlər! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Desportivo Coala's Chiquinho Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loğman Hacibabayev in the 54th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Desportivo Coala's goal looked a bit too open when Muğan Färzäliyev came free, but Chiquinho Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wiliam de Castro struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Péter Čech didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Desportivo Coala. After a rather tough play, Desportivo Coala's Bilal Tiberkanin got a free kick in the 64th minute. Ivo Tinoco was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Desportivo Coala's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 72 minutes of play, Şamaxı Bankirlər's Muğan Färzäliyev made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chiquinho Guerra was left in no man's land by his defense there! Şamaxı Bankirlər's Péter Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiliam de Castro in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Mirsaad Denisov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wiliam de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Péter Čech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cauã Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Péter Čech. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cauã Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. Bilal Tiberkanins short, quick shot in the 91stth minute got Péter Čech to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Şamaxı Bankirlər fans cheered their team off the field, for while Desportivo Coala had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
