Sangue nos Zóio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo Mascareñas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Antônio Carlos Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor Ibaute in the 17th minute of the match. When Fernandão Seco fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sangue nos Zóio's protests and gave Fernandão Seco a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sangue nos Zóio's Fernandão Seco got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Antônio Carlos Leme didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor Ibaute went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Antônio Carlos Leme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Ibaute, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antônio Carlos Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Mascareñas in the 31st minute of play. Liga de Quito's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Dudu Hermes scored to the left of an out of position Jairo Collador, making the score, 1-2. Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Liga de Quito from getting a goal against them. In the 41st minute Eduardo Mascareñas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Leme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Urbano Pacio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Antônio Carlos Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
