In the 9th minute Eduardo Mascareñas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Breno Brodel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Collador had in the 12thth minute some difficulties stopping Walmir Ferreira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 12th minute, Walmir Ferreira made a precise shot to the right of Jairo Collador. Liga de Quito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Wilson Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After 23 played minutes, Liga de Quito's Mateo Cancel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Breno Brodel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Liga de Quito reached it. The supporters of SANTOS FC- FDFDF booed when Liga de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eduardo Mascareñas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute, Nuno Moreno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jairo Collador was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 34 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Pirani came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santo Rubion hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Nestor Ibaute could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Breno Brodel made a huge save. If Urbano Pacio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telmo Pirani in the 43rd minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Jairo Collador to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Moreno in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Vidal Cismado hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Liga de Quito from getting a goal against them. Jairo Collador made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Pirani in the 56th minute of play. Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Telmo Pirani in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to SANTOS FC- FDFDF getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Didi Andrade hit a great ball. 67 minutes into the match, SANTOS FC- FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Mascareñas came free, but Breno Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Ibaute fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Breno Brodel having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Telmo Pirani in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Collador prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the SANTOS FC- FDFDF defense, Urbano Pacio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Breno Brodel. The SANTOS FC- FDFDF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Breno Brodel should have stopped the shot. After 89 played minutes SANTOS FC- FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Telmo Pirani. Nestor Ibaute struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Breno Brodel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liga de Quito.
