In the 7th minute CD Municipal were awarded a corner. Pepe Popeye went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Pepe Popeye got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luiz Fabiano Mello quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of FLA MQ BRASIL booed when CD Municipal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pepe Popeye didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermengol Cabrales might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fabiano Mello. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermengol Cabrales ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to FLA MQ BRASIL getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Arósio hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Lapurdi Collazo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 21 minutes into the game, CD Municipal's Lapurdi Collazo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Fabiano Mello made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Luiz Fabiano Mello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ermengol Cabrales's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Luiz Fabiano Mello was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Ermengol Cabrales capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ermengol Cabrales really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. FLA MQ BRASIL's Luiz Fabiano Mello played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermengol Cabrales in the 36th minute of play. Marcelo Ramalho hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermengol Cabrales in the 39th minute of play forced FLA MQ BRASIL's goalkeeper Luiz Fabiano Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Lapurdi Collazo managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Municipal's supporters rose to their feet, but Lapurdi Collazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fabiano Mello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lapurdi Collazo struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Luiz Fabiano Mello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Municipal. Luiz Fabiano Mello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lapurdi Collazo in the 49th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ermengol Cabrales made a kick off. Ramón Gayday took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Fabiano Mello. FLA MQ BRASIL's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Ermengol Cabrales sped through FLA MQ BRASIL's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Fabiano Mello. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Lapurdi Collazo managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD Municipal's supporters rose to their feet, but Lapurdi Collazo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fabiano Mello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87th minute Lapurdi Collazo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Fabiano Mello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fabiano Mello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ermengol Cabrales, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Samuel Perez was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 98 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in FLA MQ BRASIL fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 97th minute. Penalty! Luiz Fabiano Mello went to the wrong direction when Pepe Popeye was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal.
