After 19 played minutes Caskinha Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Jânio Gerber. 20 minutes into the match, Baltasar Derwin notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Caskinha Esporte Clube's Umberto França. Umberto França was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Umberto França stood somewhat misplaced when Baltasar Derwin came free in front of goal and shot 4-0 to the left of him in the 24 minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nemesio Cordarell got free with Umberto França in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wilfredo Garin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Umberto França having to make a save. Baltasar Derwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Umberto França tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltasar Derwin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Umberto França made a huge save. After some careless play in the Caskinha Esporte Clube defense, Baltasar Derwin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Umberto França. The Caskinha Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Umberto França should have stopped the shot. Umberto França showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodosio Aritza, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Garin in the 48th minute of play forced Caskinha Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Umberto França to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juarês Cardoso to make the kick off.
