After a rather tough play, ÇORUM FK's Zafer Benlioğlu got a free kick in the 13th minute. Palermo's Enrique Lekubegi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zafer Benlioğlu in the 16th minute of play. Fikri Sakmans short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Enrique Lekubegi to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 21 played minutes ÇORUM FK got a freekick which was hit by Samet Uraza. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Ioritz in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Umut İnceman saved ÇORUM FK from getting behind. Umut İnceman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Gaufred, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Palermo's Santos Ioritz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Umut İnceman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Ioritz in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Umut İnceman saved ÇORUM FK from getting behind. Abdulmelik Helvacıoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Enrique Lekubegi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustafa Cumhur Altun in the 38th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicanor Gaufred made a kick off. The supporters of ÇORUM FK booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Vachon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ÇORUM FK's Mustafa Cumhur Altun got a free kick in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Gaufred in the 76th minute of play forced ÇORUM FK's goalkeeper Umut İnceman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Ioritz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Umut İnceman firmly grabbed it by the left post.
