The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Squadra Demarchi's goal looked a bit too open when Pablo Fernández came free, but Oscar Saldanha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Mora in the 10th minute of the match. In the 15th match minute, Squadra Demarchi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ciro Castro to maneuver through the defense. Pablo Fernández received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Oscar Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Mora scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oscar Saldanha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oscar Saldanha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pablo Fernández's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Pablo Fernández sped through Squadra Demarchi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Oscar Saldanha. Leonidas Barrera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulinho Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind ORION F.C.'s goalkeeper Leonidas Barrera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kléber Queirós got free with Leonidas Barrera in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the match, ORION F.C.'s goalkeeper Leonidas Barrera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kléber Queirós. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After a rather tough play, Squadra Demarchi's Júnior Meirelles got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Pablo Fernández recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulinho Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Leonidas Barrera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, Julio Mora notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha. Oscar Saldanha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th match minute, ORION F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ildefonso Bonifaco to maneuver through the defense. Squadra Demarchi's Mané Xavier managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hermes Tello in the 70 minute of the game. Gustavo De Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Oscar Saldanha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Squadra Demarchi's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Pablo Fernández 74 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. In the 77th minute, Manuel Pinilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulinho Paraibano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leonidas Barrera. ORION F.C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Squadra Demarchi's Oscar Saldanha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Squadra Demarchi from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute, Pablo Fernández got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Pablo Fernández had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Julio Mora managed to get in a good position for a shot. ORION F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Mora was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Saldanha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ORION F.C.'s Leonidas Barrera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kléber Queirós in the 97th minute of play.
