Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Tolgahan Onay successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Guillermo Paz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Özgür Onuker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Ofelio during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Celso Ofelio hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Samsunspor's Dorukhan Erokay got a free kick in the 28th minute. A collision led to Samsunspor getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Yalçın Tezveren hit a great ball. The nice shot from Narciso Argoitz in the 41stth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Tolgahan Onay had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Samsunspor's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jacobo Dodorol 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Samsunspor's Tolgahan Onay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Samsunspor from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Narciso Argoitz to strike the kick off in the second half. When Adolfo Vela fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Encarale a la gordita's protests and gave Adolfo Vela a yellow card for diving instead. After 51 played minutes Encarale a la gordita got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Vela. Thanks to some nice moves Dorukhan Erokay could shoot a difficult shot in the 51st minute, which Guillermo Paz however easily saved by the left post. If Özgür Onuker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute, Celso Ofelio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Samsunspor booed when Encarale a la gordita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Esteve Cebrian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sabri Çağman made a great header on Samsunspor's corner, it was just that Encarale a la gordita's Guillermo Paz managed to reach the ball for a save. Tolgahan Onay came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Encarale a la gordita's Eulalio Weather. But to his dismay, Eulalio Weather quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Jacobo Dodorol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Samsunspor's zone, Narciso Argoitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tolgahan Onay came out of the goal and Narciso Argoitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Sabri Çağman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tolgahan Onay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacobo Dodorol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Encarale a la gordita support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
