Rony Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Carlinhos Pombal made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rony Domingues in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlinhos Pombal saved Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa from getting behind. Carlinhos Pombal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fernando Braga in the 27th minute of the match. When Alvinegro Carioca's Hermínio Ferraz in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hermínio Ferraz made a kick off. Cássio Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Vidal, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After 58 minutes, Hermínio Ferraz made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Cospe-Fogo-Pelasventa's Carlinhos Pombal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luiz Fernando Braga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
