Evandro Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Pedro Rodrigues having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Joinville United - FSCMZ's Serafim Paraíba got a free kick in the 5th minute. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Bebeto Leal got a free kick in the 14th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Evandro Gonçalves came free, but João Pedro Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Ortiz in the 22nd minute of the match. João Pedro Rodrigues was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jailson Santos's late challenge caught a Joinville United - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jailson Santos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vascogoianiense FC's Jailson Santos got a free kick in the 40th minute. Evandro Gonçalves took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised João Pedro Rodrigues. João Pedro Rodrigues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Evandro Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evandro Gonçalves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Joinville United - FSCMZ players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vascogoianiense FC were winning 0-3.

54 minutes into the match, Joinville United - FSCMZ's goalkeeper João Pedro Rodrigues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Waldemar Ortiz. Waldemar Ortiz might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Pedro Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Waldemar Ortiz ran back to his position shaking his head. When Vascogoianiense FC's Evandro Gonçalves in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Although Joinville United - FSCMZ had been in control for most of the match, Vascogoianiense FC still came away with the win.
