When Mexilhão F. C.'s Reinaldo Penha in the 7th minute got a chance for a shot 7th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AbraXas's goalie prevented a goal. Almir Loureiro struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Ermegildo Medardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexilhão F. C.. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when AbraXas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulgencio Erlantz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermegildo Medardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Eustaquio Quirze could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Marcelinho Matorin made a huge save. Nelsinho Dantas's late challenge caught a AbraXas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelsinho Dantas helped the player get up and apologised. Angel Llin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelinho Matorin having to interfere. Reinaldo Penha might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ermegildo Medardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Reinaldo Penha ran back to his position shaking his head. Ermegildo Medardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felippe Mineiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eustaquio Quirze got free with Marcelinho Matorin in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to AbraXas getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Silverio Ariando hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felippe Mineiro in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ermegildo Medardo saved AbraXas from getting behind. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when AbraXas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Bazkoare didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermegildo Medardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almir Loureiro in the 45th minute of the match. After 46 minutes, Silverio Ariando mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AbraXas and the Mexilhão F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, AbraXas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silverio Ariando to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felippe Mineiro to make the kick off. With an all-out effort, Mexilhão F. C.'s Ermegildo Medardo threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Felippe Mineiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Nelsinho Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of AbraXas booed when Mexilhão F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafim Motta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 64 played minutes, AbraXas's Eustaquio Quirze shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcelinho Matorin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AbraXas reached it. Marcelinho Matorin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amador George went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Marcelinho Matorin came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by AbraXas's Angel Llin. But to his dismay, Angel Llin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 78th match minute, Mexilhão F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nelsinho Dantas to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, AbraXas's goal looked a bit too open when Felippe Mineiro came free, but Ermegildo Medardo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 82 minutes, Almir Loureiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexilhão F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Almir Loureiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silverio Ariando kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 90 minutes into the game, Eustaquio Quirze cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Marcelinho Matorin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The AbraXas support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
