Igor Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingo Serafo having to interfere. After having played for 22 minutes, Nilmar do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SRP-Laguna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nilmar do Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marcelino Polentzi came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alex Sarmento could save by the left post. Nilmar do Nascimento's late challenge caught a Palermo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nilmar do Nascimento helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Palermo AFC booed when SRP-Laguna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilmar do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save SRP-Laguna from getting a goal against them. SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elvio Olo in the 37th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Polentzi got free with Alex Sarmento in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Sarmento made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Florencio Fix sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the match, SRP-Laguna's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Olo came free, but Alex Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Palermo AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SRP-Laguna were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Florencio Fix made a kick off. A collision led to SRP-Laguna getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Palermo AFC fully deserved thier win.
