Manfredo Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. When Paavo Salmela came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Manchester United FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paavo Salmela couldn't finish the play. After 9 played minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino Leite. After 12 played minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo Santos. Paavo Salmela took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vivaldo Paraíba. Vivaldo Paraíba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Délio Gerber got a free kick in the 18th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Ruud van Nistelrooij managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruud van Nistelrooij was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vivaldo Paraíba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jarkko Sulin kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Délio Gerber scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juha Jokiranta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Manfredo Santos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juha Jokiranta. That made the score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Blumenau Esporte Clube's zone, Rasmus Viljanen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo Paraíba came out of the goal and Rasmus Viljanen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vivaldo Paraíba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Martti Helin hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Manchester United FC's Paavo Salmela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vivaldo Paraíba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Blumenau Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ruud van Nistelrooij came free, but Vivaldo Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aatto Hänninen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paavo Salmela in the 47th minute of play forced Blumenau Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Vivaldo Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Délio Gerber made a kick off. Vivaldo Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 59th minute of the match. Dennis Irwin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Vivaldo Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gil Paraíba charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gil Paraíba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vivaldo Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Manchester United FC's Juha Jokiranta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Délio Gerber in the 69th minute of play. After 75 minutes of play, Blumenau Esporte Clube's Délio Gerber made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Juha Jokiranta was left in no man's land by his defense there! Juha Jokiranta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiago Dionísio hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 81 played minutes Manchester United FC got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Irwin. Vivaldo Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 84th minute of play. After 84 played minutes Blumenau Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Emerson Proença. Vivaldo Paraíba was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ruud van Nistelrooij showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 91 minute of play. Despite being the better team, Manchester United FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
