Pes Carrasquedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Betão de Amaral made a huge save. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's Ruisko Perucho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Veloso in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Perivaldo de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rosalio Roson hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the match, S.E. Cachoeirinha's goal looked a bit too open when Aurre Salado came free, but Betão de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th minute, Elder Luz made a precise shot to the right of Ruisko Perucho. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's Ruisko Perucho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Recife in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Eurico Ceresso got a free kick in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xuban Benedid got free with Betão de Amaral in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the game, Edinho Mello was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.E. Cachoeirinha's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Glorioso Deportivo Cali the free kick. Edinho Mello hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Pes Carrasquedo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ruisko Perucho came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by S.E. Cachoeirinha's Dorival Veloso. But to his dismay, Dorival Veloso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Pes Carrasquedo kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Pes Carrasquedo might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Betão de Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pes Carrasquedo ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half S.E. Cachoeirinha were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Luz in the 52nd minute of play forced Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goalkeeper Ruisko Perucho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Edinho Mello was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 57 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Edinho Mello got a free kick in the 57th minute. After some careless play in the Glorioso Deportivo Cali defense, Frederico Gomes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ruisko Perucho. The Glorioso Deportivo Cali fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruisko Perucho should have stopped the shot. In the 66th match minute, Glorioso Deportivo Cali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurre Salado to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Veloso came free, but Ruisko Perucho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorival Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes into the game, Pes Carrasquedo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Betão de Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aurre Salado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Glorioso Deportivo Cali getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Rosalio Roson hit a great ball. In the 80th minute, Frederico Gomes made a precise shot to the right of Ruisko Perucho. Glorioso Deportivo Cali's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Ruisko Perucho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goalkeeper Ruisko Perucho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederico Gomes. Ruisko Perucho was a little too slow when Dorival Veloso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-7. A collision led to Glorioso Deportivo Cali getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Luzaide Busta hit a great ball. After 96 played minutes, S.E. Cachoeirinha's Nilmar do Valle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ruisko Perucho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in S.E. Cachoeirinha reached it. S.E. Cachoeirinha played a much better game than Glorioso Deportivo Cali and deserved their victory. The Glorioso Deportivo Cali players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
