The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ronaldinho Pernambucano came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by JURIDIQUES F.C's Jefferson Barreto. But to his dismay, Jefferson Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Haridades F.C's Ernesto Coelho got a free kick in the 13th minute. Miguel Pombal hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Haridades F.C's Moisés Dracena got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Haridades F.C fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Haridades F.C's Moisés Dracena looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gerson Sarmento's late challenge caught a JURIDIQUES F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerson Sarmento helped the player get up and apologised. With an all-out effort, Haridades F.C's Zé Pedro Varela threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Moisés Dracena, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moisés Dracena to make the kick off. If Roberto Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Pedro Varela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moisés Dracena in the 56th minute of play. Davi Gerber charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Davi Gerber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zé Pedro Varela came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Haridades F.C's Moisés Dracena. But to his dismay, Moisés Dracena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Dracena in the 70th minute of play forced JURIDIQUES F.C's goalkeeper Zé Pedro Varela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Haridades F.C's Ronaldinho Pernambucano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Haridades F.C from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Haridades F.C booed when JURIDIQUES F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jefferson Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 minutes of play, Haridades F.C's Ernesto Coelho made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé Pedro Varela was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luís Eduardo Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro Varela having to interfere. A collision led to JURIDIQUES F.C getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Davi Gerber hit a great ball. JURIDIQUES F.C's Zé Pedro Varela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Dracena in the 83rd minute of play. Ronaldinho Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jefferson Barreto in the 86th minute of the match. Zé Pedro Varela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moisés Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Moisés Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Haridades F.C's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
