They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bartolomeo Heinlein made a kick off. Adnan Tilner hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Segundo Balendin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Rasmus Gölz made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Segundo Balendin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Vikingos FC's Gonzalo Argoitz was substituted for Honorato Aureo. When Nat Schmitt fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sydney FC's protests and gave Nat Schmitt a yellow card for diving instead. Nat Schmitt kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. The supporters of Vikingos FC booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Don Küttner didn't get a good kick on the ball.
