With a little luck, Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz got control of the ball when Efraín Ruiz Tagle tried to sneak it across the goal line. Efraín Ruiz Tagle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Rasmus Gölz made a huge save. 17 minutes into the match, Spartans FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeo Heinlein came free, but Florín Hermosilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florín Hermosilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 20th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Spartans FC's Filiberto Raab got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 25 minutes, Kees Plappert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the Spartans FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th minute, Kees Plappert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Efraín Ruiz Tagle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bartolomeo Heinleins short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Florín Hermosilla to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Efraín Ruiz Tagle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rasmus Gölz having to interfere. Florín Hermosilla came out of the goal and Bartolomeo Heinlein tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sydney FC booed when Spartans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiberto Raab didn't get a good kick on the ball.
