Spectators: 7679 (Terracing: 5760, Seating: 1766, VIP seats: 153) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Edgard Quintun took the kick off in the first half of the match. Fernando Asur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rasmus Gölz having to interfere. The Sydney FC fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Sydney FC's Bartolomeo Heinlein looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Nat Schmitt hit a great ball. Fernando Asur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rasmus Gölz having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolomeo Heinlein in the 24th minute of play forced Newpi Academy's goalkeeper Ceferino Balasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Quintun in the 30th minute of the match. Newpi Academy's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Victoriano Burutzagi in the 34th minute. A nice corner shot did that Victoriano Burutzagi got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rasmus Gölz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Rasmus Gölz got control of the ball when Edgard Quintun tried to sneak it across the goal line. Newpi Academy's Victoriano Burutzagi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rasmus Gölz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 41 played minutes Newpi Academy got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Asur. Sydney FC's Danko Schiffmann was substituted for Kees Plappert. The supporters of Sydney FC booed when Newpi Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Asur didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bartolomeo Heinlein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ceferino Balasi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danko Schiffmann in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to Newpi Academy getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Armand Callahan hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bartolomeo Heinlein to make the kick off. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Reynardo in the 53rd minute of the match. The supporters of Sydney FC booed when Newpi Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolando Reynardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Newpi Academy's Clemente Neron got a free kick in the 55th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Newpi Academy's goalkeeper Ceferino Balasi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danko Schiffmann. In the 71st minute, Victoriano Burutzagi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Rolando Reynardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rasmus Gölz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Quintun in the 76th minute of the match. Rasmus Gölz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Quintun, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 86 played minutes Newpi Academy got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Reynardo. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sydney FC's goalkeeper Rasmus Gölz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bartolomeo Heinlein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Balasi having to interfere. Danko Schiffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sydney FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Newpi Academy's much stronger midfield.
