After 22 minutes, Felix Pascua mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Loja S.C. and the El coca fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Loja S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Felix Pascua. Loja S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Xarles Barrieta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Genaro Lixandro during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. During the 46th minute of the match Felix Pascua completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Felix Pascua a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 47 played minutes Loja S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Felix Pascua. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Loja S.C. booed when El coca fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Omero Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Loja S.C.'s Ismael Rossell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omero Simpson in the 85th minute of play. After 88 played minutes El coca fc got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Lixandro. In the 89th minute Urtun Baldaliso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Atilano Normando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Atilano Normando successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Loja S.C. were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over El coca fc's much stronger midfield.
