The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. VfL Wolfsburg's attentive Karl-Erik Sörman managed to snatch the ball when Dimitri Faber made a throw-in in the 8th minute of the game. B68 Toftir's Kevin Trapp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Delin in the 10th minute of play. Jerry Fristedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Trapp having to interfere. B68 Toftir's Kevin Trapp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfons Delin in the 13th minute of play. 13 minutes into the game, VfL Wolfsburg's Alfons Delin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kevin Trapp made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. VfL Wolfsburg were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after B68 Toftir's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kim Torstensson took the corner. When Patrick Albom fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VfL Wolfsburg's protests and gave Patrick Albom a yellow card for diving instead. Patrick Albom kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Tomáš Čvančara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olle Tunander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dimitri Faber kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 22 minutes into the game, Rasmus Backlund was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VfL Wolfsburg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave B68 Toftir the free kick. The supporters of B68 Toftir booed when VfL Wolfsburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rasmus Backlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olle Tunander was a little too slow when Nathan Kempf got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Jerry Fristedt managed to get in a good position for a shot. VfL Wolfsburg's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerry Fristedt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jerry Fristedt to strike the kick off in the second half. Kevin Trapp had in the 65thth minute some difficulties stopping Kim Torstensson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dimitri Faber in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olle Tunander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olle Tunander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomáš Čvančara in the 82nd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Tomáš Čvančara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olle Tunander. VfL Wolfsburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomáš Čvančara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. 92 minutes into the match, VfL Wolfsburg's goal looked a bit too open when Tomáš Čvančara came free, but Olle Tunander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
