The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Andrei Dinculescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebiu Siniştean, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. MIT's Marcu Voitiş got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gigel Gorgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Stanciu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristian Pricop during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s Cristian Pricop got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Marcu Voitiş managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Codrin Turbatu made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Gigi Stanciu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of MIT's Gigel Gorgan. Gigel Gorgan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Andrei Dinculescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dan Marica in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gigel Gorgan saved MIT from getting behind. The MIT supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MIT would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
