In the 14th minute, Dick Hedlund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sparka & Spring BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 21st minute, Osvald Brogren made a precise shot to the right of Miguel Ángel Santoro. C. A. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 23rd minute, Guy Becerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Osvald Brogren might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Miguel Ángel Santoro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvald Brogren ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to C. A. Independiente getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Elliot Orozco hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Osvald Brogren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Ángel Santoro was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. C. A. Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dick Hedlund in the 42nd minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osvald Brogren made a kick off. Karl-Åke Forss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Pedro Monzón was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Independiente's players had a chance to rest. Miguel Ángel Santoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oskar Bengtsson in the 88th minute of play. 90 minutes into the game, Adrian Löfgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sparka & Spring BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C. A. Independiente the free kick. The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Sparka & Spring BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Löfgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sparka & Spring BK's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
