Özdemir Babayiğit showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lino Ekialde in the 6th minute of the match. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Szajk LC reached it. Özdemir Babayiğit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Bautista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Estudiantes de América booed when Szajk LC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zsolt Polyák didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lino Ekialde kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Szajk LC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Bautista came free, but Özdemir Babayiğit reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Gustavo Bautista hit a great ball. Brúnó Selymes charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brúnó Selymes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Szajk LC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Özdemir Babayiğit had in the 28thth minute some difficulties stopping Lino Ekialde's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Roland Gergely lost his temper 37 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Estudiantes de América booed when Szajk LC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Gergely didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Lino Ekialde got a free kick in the 40th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de América's zone, Egon Vargha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Nuñez came out of the goal and Egon Vargha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The attack was good, but when Gustavo Bautista in the 55th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. A collision led to Szajk LC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Miklós Bogdán hit a great ball. Özdemir Babayiğit came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de América's Gustavo Bautista. But to his dismay, Gustavo Bautista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Özdemir Babayiğit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Bautista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 66 minutes Szajk LC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lino Ekialde who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zsolt Polyák in the 67th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Flavio Nuñez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lino Ekialde got free with Özdemir Babayiğit in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Szajk LC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Isidro Lángara hit a great ball. 81 minutes into the game, Javier Markel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de América's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Szajk LC the free kick. In the 81st match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Markel to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th match minute, Szajk LC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zsolt Polyák to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Orlan shot from long distance in the 91st minute, but Özdemir Babayiğit was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Özdemir Babayiğit came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Estudiantes de América's Bernardo Quiroga. But to his dismay, Bernardo Quiroga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The Estudiantes de América supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Estudiantes de América would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
