Séverin Dent kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Franklin Leite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 6th match minute, Vancouver Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maynard Pike to maneuver through the defense. Heriberto Walton didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Cactos's Gugu Montenegro shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Deivid Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Séverin Dent in the 14th minute of the match. Heriberto Walton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gugu Montenegro in the 19th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Vancouver Reds defense, Gugu Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heriberto Walton. The Vancouver Reds fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heriberto Walton should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Vancouver Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldão Trevisan came free, but Heriberto Walton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Cactos's Armando Gerber got a free kick in the 25th minute. Deivid Rosa made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Jerrold Villeneuve sent off a good shot on target. The Cactos fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Cactos's Franklin Leite looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Vancouver Reds's zone, Amílton Paulista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heriberto Walton came out of the goal and Amílton Paulista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oséas Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Vancouver Reds getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Jerrold Villeneuve hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Gerber in the 38th minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heriberto Walton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vancouver Reds's Heriberto Walton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Montenegro in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Cactos were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Franklin Leite made a kick off. Gugu Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Heriberto Walton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geoffrey Roach hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Lucien Wiley hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Armando Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heriberto Walton having to interfere. Gugu Montenegro was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Cactos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oséas Branco during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle went the supporters of Cactos were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Vancouver Reds side.
