The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Mercurio got free with Maximino Cristofanini in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laureano Mercurio in the 4th minute of play forced Buitenhout FC's goalkeeper Maximino Cristofanini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. I.'s Jaime Menendo was substituted for German Veto. The supporters of Buitenhout FC booed when Q. T. I. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Txatxu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Ramzinski in the 88th minute of play. Jaime Menendo scored 2-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maximino Cristofanini, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Q. T. I. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Buitenhout FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
