The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Varennes booed when WAU team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramón Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gale Laliberté in the 8th minute of play. A collision led to WAU team getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Dalmo Paes hit a great ball. Gale Laliberté charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gale Laliberté the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Varennes's Gale Laliberté got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ramón Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ellsworth Lindsay in the 20th minute of play. After some careless play in the WAU team defense, Ellsworth Lindsay kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramón Neves. The WAU team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramón Neves should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of WAU team:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Varennes:s goal. 29 minutes into the match, WAU team's goal looked a bit too open when Ellsworth Lindsay came free, but Ramón Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bedirhan Türk during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th minute, Bedirhan Türk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 41 played minutes Varennes got a freekick which was hit by Loic Deal. Ramón Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ellsworth Lindsay in the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Varennes's zone, Rony de Andrade stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brice Leach came out of the goal and Rony de Andrade tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. WAU team's Ramón Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Randell McCullough in the 47th minute of play. The WAU team players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Varennes were winning 0-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dênis Tande made a kick off. A collision led to Varennes getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Oliver Shirley hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute Dênis Tande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brice Leach saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Oliver Shirley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Varennes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave WAU team the free kick. The supporters of WAU team booed when Varennes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Shirley didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Tande in the 58th minute of play forced Varennes's goalkeeper Brice Leach to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Varennes's goal looked a bit too open when Rony de Andrade came free, but Brice Leach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. WAU team's Ramón Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loic Deal in the 59th minute of play. Brice Leach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Tande in the 62nd minute of play. WAU team's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Eduardo Alagoano in the 64th minute. WAU team's Carlos Eduardo Alagoano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Brice Leach in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When WAU team's Rony de Andrade in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Varennes's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Varennes's Sandy Hendrix got a free kick in the 66th minute. After a rather tough play, WAU team's Vágner Siqueira got a free kick in the 68th minute. Ramón Neves was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Salvador Braswell. If Dênis Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ellsworth Lindsay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ramón Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dênis Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brice Leach made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dênis Tande in the 85th minute of play. Carlos Eduardo Alagoano hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Ramón Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Randell McCullough in the 90th minute of the match. Carlos Eduardo Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. WAU team's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when Randell McCullough scored to the left of an out of position Ramón Neves, making the score, 0-3. When the match was over Varennes could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than WAU team throughout the match.
