Leo Victoro charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Independiente's Christian Muc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kliment Frontov in the 28th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Márton Baló in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christian Muc saved Independiente from getting behind. A hard shot 37 in the game by Zeledon Sazon from a close distance when the talented Pál Dankó managed to make a qualified save. Edelényi Bányász's players were relieved. The supporters of Edelényi Bányász booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Garin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lukács Sóti's late challenge caught a Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lukács Sóti helped the player get up and apologised. Christian Muc came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Edelényi Bányász's Lukács Sóti. But to his dismay, Lukács Sóti quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half Edelényi Bányász were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pál Dankó showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Sazon in the 54th minute of the match. Iván Cordoba kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Pál Dankó made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeledon Sazon in the 57th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Mariano Gorosti made a precise shot to the right of Pál Dankó. Edelényi Bányász's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Pál Dankó took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zeledon Sazon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pál Dankó didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeledon Sazon went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Gordon Blue hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 97 played minutes Edelényi Bányász got a freekick which was hit by Márton Baló. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
