Spectators: 7745 (Terracing: 5810, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Diego Angulo kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Feliciano Jaunti came free, but Lautaro Estebanez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sabaneta FC's Clemente Ruy got a free kick in the 6th minute. Lautaro Estebanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Feliciano Jaunti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Independiente were furious when Adolfo Policarpio was red carded, 12 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Adolfo Policarpio got a free kick in the 12th minute. Christian Muc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Villagrán, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Clemente Ruy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sabaneta FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Christian Muc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Ruy in the 20th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Lautaro Estebanez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Victoro. Feliciano Jaunti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Muc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Ruy in the 35th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Nemesio Carlomagno got a free kick in the 38th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Feliciano Jaunti in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Estebanez saved Sabaneta FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Zeledon Sazon got a free kick in the 44th minute. Christian Muc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diego Angulo in the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th match minute, Sabaneta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Villagrán to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Lautaro Estebanez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jacinto Estavan. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Sabaneta FC's Maraman Bances was substituted for Maximo Lomba. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Feliciano Jaunti to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Estebanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Garin in the 57th minute of play. In the 59th minute Francisco Villagrán shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Muc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aldo Iruinea fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Independiente's protests and gave Aldo Iruinea a yellow card for diving instead. When Jonatan Mocellar came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Sabaneta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonatan Mocellar couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Victoro in the 72nd minute of play forced Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Lautaro Estebanez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd minute Leo Victoro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Estebanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto Estavan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Estebanez having to make a save. Lautaro Estebanez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Estavan, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 82nd minute, Feliciano Jaunti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Estebanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Estavan in the 83rd minute of play. Lautaro Estebanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Estavan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Sabaneta FC's zone, Paulo Garin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lautaro Estebanez came out of the goal and Paulo Garin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lautaro Estebanez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliciano Jaunti, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Zeledon Sazon charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zeledon Sazon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leo Victoro kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The Sabaneta FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sabaneta FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
