In the 14thth minute of the game Fidelio Aldunate who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter de Chillán's José Ignacio Rocha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Inter de Chillán booed when Algarrobo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maxín Escudero didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Valdivia in the 18th minute of play forced Algarrobo's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fidelio Aldunate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute Maxín Escudero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Ignacio Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Inter de Chillán's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marcel Wassermayer in the 36th minute. A collision led to Inter de Chillán getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Javier Casas hit a great ball. 39 minutes into the game, Francisco Idoate was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Algarrobo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Chillán the free kick. After a rather tough play, Algarrobo's Francisco Idoate got a free kick in the 39th minute. When Marcel Wassermayer came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Inter de Chillán fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcel Wassermayer couldn't finish the play. Jorge Valdivia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th match minute, Algarrobo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Jesus Orrego to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Valdivia in the 51st minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Jose Miguel Reinaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Maxín Escudero could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which José Ignacio Rocha however easily saved by the left post. José Ignacio Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fidelio Aldunate in the 60th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Jorge Valdivia made a precise shot to the right of Petr Čech. Algarrobo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 66 minutes into the game, Maxín Escudero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. José Ignacio Rocha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Javier Casas in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petr Čech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Inter de Chillán were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Algarrobo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcel Wassermayer took the corner. The corner led to Inter de Chillán's Adam Badiola getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Javier Casas in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petr Čech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Javier Casas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petr Čech was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Inter de Chillán were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Algarrobo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcel Wassermayer took the corner. At last the ball reached Adam Badiola at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Algarrobo. 2-1. After a rather tough play, Algarrobo's Fidelio Aldunate got a free kick in the 81st minute. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Casas, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
