After some careless play in the Inter de Chillán defense, Denis Servando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Ignacio Rocha. The Inter de Chillán fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Ignacio Rocha should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Javier Casas could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Vjeran Tomić however easily saved by the left post. In the 25th minute, Placido Beltza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Servando came free, but José Ignacio Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adam Badiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristián Duguid's late challenge caught a Brasil off's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristián Duguid helped the player get up and apologised. José Ignacio Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florencio Lixandro in the 35th minute of play. Vjeran Tomić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lothar Matthæus in the 40th minute of the match. José Ignacio Rocha came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Brasil off's Benedicto Oskitz. But to his dismay, Benedicto Oskitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Vjeran Tomić successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Javier Casas was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Badiola in the 52nd minute of play forced Brasil off's goalkeeper Vjeran Tomić to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Denis Servando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. José Ignacio Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brasil off made a substitution. Anacleto Ioritz replaced Denis Servando. With a little luck, Inter de Chillán's José Ignacio Rocha got control of the ball when Anacleto Ioritz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vjeran Tomić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Casas in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute Javier Casas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vjeran Tomić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th match minute, Brasil off was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmo Tor to maneuver through the defense. Vjeran Tomić made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Valdivia in the 73rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Valdivia in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vjeran Tomić prevented the ball from getting in the gole. José Ignacio Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anacleto Ioritz in the 80th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Javier Casas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vjeran Tomić saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javier Casas charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Javier Casas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Inter de Chillán getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Javier Casas hit a great ball. Jorge Valdivia might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vjeran Tomić. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Valdivia ran back to his position shaking his head. Anacleto Ioritz scored 0-3 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Ignacio Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. José Ignacio Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anacleto Ioritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Brasil off supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brasil off would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
