José Ignacio Rocha was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the game, Maxín Escudero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fidelio Aldunate got free with José Ignacio Rocha in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Lacunza in the 31st minute of play forced Algarrobo's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Petr Čech stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Valdivia's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Inter de Chillán's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Francisco Lacunza in the 34th minute. The corner led to Inter de Chillán's Francisco Lacunza getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 37th minute, Lothar Matthæus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, one of Inter de Chillán:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Inter de Chillán. After 41 minutes, Adam Badiola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter de Chillán and the Algarrobo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st minute, Adam Badiola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Ignacio Rocha made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Maxín Escudero sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Lacunza to make the kick off. José Ignacio Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fidelio Aldunate, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goalkeeper Petr Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Lacunza. José Ignacio Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fidelio Aldunate in the 55th minute of play. Algarrobo were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Inter de Chillán's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fidelio Aldunate took the corner. 63 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Lacunza came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Inter de Chillán getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Juliano Ibáñez hit a great ball. In the 66th minute of the match Fidelio Aldunate sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Ignacio Rocha skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Algarrobo booed when Inter de Chillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lothar Matthæus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adam Badiola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 85 minutes into the match, Tsubasa Ozora notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Inter de Chillán's José Ignacio Rocha. José Ignacio Rocha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Algarrobo booed when Inter de Chillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Lacunza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Fidelio Aldunate ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Ignacio Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Inter de Chillán's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
