Freddie Henderson started the match with the kick off. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Clemente Armani played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico de Brito in the 6th minute of play. Clemente Armani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão de Amaral in the 7th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristi Saron in the 9th minute of play forced C. A. Pipon Pipon's goalkeeper Clemente Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Arthur Bufi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Cruzeiro Esporte Clube from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Gwidon Cwojdak got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 19 minutes, Gwidon Cwojdak made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Clemente Armani tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute, Gwidon Cwojdak ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente Armani was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Gwidon Cwojdak struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Clemente Armani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cruzeiro Esporte Clube. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Lanny Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Pipon Pipon's supporters rose to their feet, but Lanny Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Bufi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jerold Floyd hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Pipon Pipon's zone, Gwidon Cwojdak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Armani came out of the goal and Gwidon Cwojdak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, Lanny Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chico de Brito in the 40th minute of play forced C. A. Pipon Pipon's goalkeeper Clemente Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Cruzeiro Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Chico de Brito hit a great ball. After 47 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Isidro Ferman. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Bronson Mackey was substituted for Denis Crow. A collision led to Cruzeiro Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Isidro Ferman hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chico de Brito to make the kick off. Arthur Bufi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddie Henderson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when C. A. Pipon Pipon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bronson Mackey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clemente Armani was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cristi Saron. Arthur Bufi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamel Cronshagen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Freddie Henderson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 65 minutes had been played. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when C. A. Pipon Pipon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddie Henderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Eusébio Magalhães was substituted for Chico de Brito. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Naldo Guedes was substituted for Bernardinho Palmeira. The supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube booed when C. A. During the 84th minute of the match Wilson Piazza completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Wilson Piazza a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 84th minute, Wilson Piazza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C. A. Pipon Pipon's Clemente Armani proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Pipon Pipon from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute Lanny Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arthur Bufi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eusébio Magalhães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Clemente Armani made a huge save. Cristi Saron received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Clemente Armani tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96 played minutes Cruzeiro Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Gwidon Cwojdak. Lanny Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 97th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lanny Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 97th match minute, C. A. Pipon Pipon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lanny Valle to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle went the supporters of Cruzeiro Esporte Clube were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant C. A. Pipon Pipon side.
