The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Attard Gunners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 16 played minutes Attard Gunners got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Zrinzo. 17 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Aage Schwabe came free, but Amadeo Rapinett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yannik Mattheis made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Andrea Xuereb sent off a good shot on target. Josh Triganza charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Josh Triganza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th minute, Josh Triganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Yentür came free, but Amadeo Rapinett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Angelo Incorvaia almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but KFC Uerdingen 05's Yannik Mattheis did a great save. Yannik Mattheis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Zrinzo in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Fabio Vassallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th match minute, KFC Uerdingen 05 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Yentür to maneuver through the defense. Attard Gunners's Amadeo Rapinett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edin Džeko in the 36th minute of play. Edin Džeko scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amadeo Rapinett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 42 minutes, Edin Džeko made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Attard Gunners's Amadeo Rapinett tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Edin Džeko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amadeo Rapinett was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. With an all-out effort, KFC Uerdingen 05's Amadeo Rapinett threw himself towards the right post 60 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ariel Breiffel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Attard Gunners getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Leo Tabone hit a great ball. If Ariel Breiffel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the game, William De Lucca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Attard Gunners's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KFC Uerdingen 05 the free kick. William De Lucca hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Amadeo Rapinett made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aage Schwabe in the 74th minute. 74 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Yentür came free, but Amadeo Rapinett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Attard Gunners's goalkeeper Amadeo Rapinett had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edin Džeko.
