The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Raimundo Camargo sped through Scofield's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fabian Pello. Fabian Pello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Camargo in the 8th minute of play. In the 13th minute Armando Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Pello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Scofield's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Camargo came free, but Fabian Pello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Váldson de Sena scored 0-3 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabian Pello, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fabian Pello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Camargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Fabian Pello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Botelho in the 39th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the match, Scofield's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Botelho came free, but Fabian Pello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Pello didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Armando Botelho went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. After the first half Capibaribe Stars were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Romero to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Raimundo Camargo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Fabian Pello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabian Pello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimundo Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Scofield's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Francisco Mazza took the corner. 63 minutes into the match, Scofield's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Camargo came free, but Fabian Pello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's Pedro Luiz Figueiredo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabian Pello narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 71st minute, Aaron Rodriguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Scofield's Fabian Pello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Scofield from getting a goal against them. After 78 played minutes Scofield got a freekick which was hit by Juan Romero. Marcos Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camilo Maxin kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Raimundo Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Pello having to interfere. Fabian Pello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Camargo in the 89th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Capibaribe Stars had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
