In the 26th minute Harry Hernström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silas Nascimento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charles Johansson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mario Balotelli's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Mario Balotelli did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Charles Johansson 38 minutes into the match. Charles Johansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Balotelli in the 41st minute of play. Charles Johansson stood somewhat misplaced when Mario Balotelli came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 46 minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to México Eterno MZC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Eugênio Viana hit a great ball. Mario Balotelli's late challenge caught a AC Superstar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Balotelli helped the player get up and apologised. Mario Balotelli hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match.
