After 3 minutes, Daniel Crabtree mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juventus Telford and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Juventus Telford's zone, Mickael Theunis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shane Brindley came out of the goal and Mickael Theunis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tris Hurst's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tris Hurst helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th minute, Tris Hurst hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shane Brindley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thommy Pelgrims in the 10th minute of play. Constant Vanden Broucke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Shane Brindley made a huge save. In the 13th minute of the match, Zac Bal tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Shane Brindley saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thommy Pelgrims did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Shane Brindley 14 minutes into the match. Alastair Wishart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jools Dickner charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jools Dickner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jools Dickner hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Constant Vanden Broucke who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Shane Brindley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A collision led to Juventus Telford getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Tony Morning hit a great ball. If Alastair Wishart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Constant Vanden Broucke's late challenge caught a Juventus Telford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Shane Brindley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constant Vanden Broucke in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Constant Vanden Broucke made a precise shot to the right of Shane Brindley. Juventus Telford's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

In the 51st match minute, Juventus Telford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Morning to maneuver through the defense. Juventus Telford's Shane Brindley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constant Vanden Broucke in the 52nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zac Bal in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shane Brindley saved Juventus Telford from getting behind. In the 62nd minute, Mickael Theunis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Thommy Pelgrims's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Shane Brindley was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. In the 68th match minute, Juventus Telford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tris Hurst to maneuver through the defense. Shane Brindley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Constant Vanden Broucke in the 69th minute of play. In the 89th minute Zac Bal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Brindley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Brugge United had won after a very even match.
