Spectators: 7745 (Terracing: 5810, Seating: 1781, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bob Chute started the match with the kick off. Rui Baptista's late challenge caught a Brugge United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Baptista helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Misericordia EC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Rui Baptista hit a great ball. After 6 minutes of play, Misericordia EC's Bob Chute made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aldo Candal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mickael Theunis in the 10th minute of the match. Bob Dinamite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Mickael Theunis. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mickael Theunis during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Brugge United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Misericordia EC the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Brugge United's zone, Bob Dinamite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aldo Candal came out of the goal and Bob Dinamite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caetano Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Misericordia EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Constant Vanden Broucke fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Misericordia EC's Bob Chute in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Brugge United's goalie prevented a goal. Caetano Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Candal having to interfere. Zac Bal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Dias having to interfere. In the 43rdth minute of the game Caetano Mattos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brugge United's Aldo Candal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Roth Prot during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Misericordia EC booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roth Prot didn't get a good kick on the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

53 minutes into the match, Brugge United's Zac Bal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Dias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Dias stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mickael Theunis's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute Caetano Mattos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Aldo Candal managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Misericordia EC's Bob Chute fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Thommy Pelgrims came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Brugge United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thommy Pelgrims couldn't finish the play. Misericordia EC's Bob Dinamite got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Constant Vanden Broucke in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thommy Pelgrims in the 71st minute of play forced Misericordia EC's goalkeeper Carlos Dias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Misericordia EC's Aldo Candal threw himself towards the right post 74 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bob Chute, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Olavo Catarinense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85thth minute of the game Thommy Pelgrims who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Misericordia EC's Carlos Dias was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Misericordia EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Chute to maneuver through the defense. After 94 played minutes, Brugge United's Binjamin Denturck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlos Dias came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Brugge United reached it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Misericordia EC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
