The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Américo Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vitória StrikerS™'s protests and gave Américo Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, Vitória StrikerS™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. 3 minutes into the match, Vitória StrikerS™'s goal looked a bit too open when Binjamin Denturck came free, but La Bolas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickael Theunis in the 5th minute of play forced Vitória StrikerS™'s goalkeeper La Bolas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Vitória StrikerS™'s Branco Preto seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Branco Preto the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Vitória StrikerS™ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Branco Preto had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 7 played minutes Vitória StrikerS™ got a freekick which was hit by Branco Preto. Constant Vanden Broucke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 12th minute, Flávio Perdigão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Durval Bulhosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aldo Candal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flávio Perdigão in the 16th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. La Bolas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thommy Pelgrims, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 25 minutes, Josué Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vitória StrikerS™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aldo Candal made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Flávio Perdigão sent off a good shot on target. Thommy Pelgrims hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Vitória StrikerS™'s goal looked a bit too open when Zac Bal came free, but La Bolas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Durval Bulhosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flávio Perdigão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Aldo Candal made a huge save. After 44 played minutes Brugge United got a freekick which was hit by Roth Prot. After 45 played minutes, Vitória StrikerS™'s Panda Urso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aldo Candal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vitória StrikerS™ reached it. Aldo Candal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flávio Perdigão in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thommy Pelgrims to strike the kick off in the second half. Brugge United's Aldo Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flávio Perdigão in the 52nd minute of play. La Bolas was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Zac Bal capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zac Bal really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Durval Bulhosa during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Durval Bulhosa hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Aldo Candal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flávio Perdigão in the 64th minute of the match. Vitória StrikerS™'s La Bolas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Vitória StrikerS™ from getting a goal against them. In the 68th minute, Durval Bulhosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Albérico Santarém came free, but Aldo Candal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brugge United's Aldo Candal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albérico Santarém in the 73rd minute of play. After 75 minutes Brugge United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Panda Urso who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Vitória StrikerS™'s Panda Urso to fire away a dangerous shot which Aldo Candal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Vitória StrikerS™'s La Bolas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Vitória StrikerS™ from getting a goal against them. In the 82nd minute Durval Bulhosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albérico Santarém kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The Brugge United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Brugge United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
