With an all-out effort, Minho FC's Jonathan da Fonseca threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alex Cortez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jairo Calçada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 8th minute CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE were awarded a corner. Diguinho de Senna went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Diguinho de Senna almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Minho FC's Jairo Calçada did a great save. 13 minutes into the game, Simamane LuaLua was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minho FC the free kick. In the 13th minute, Simamane LuaLua hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Diguinho de Senna in the 21st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Minho FC's Raimundo Valente. If Alex Cortez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Endrick Krossing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício Pimentel in the 27th minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Jonathan da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Pimentel came free, but Jonathan da Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Minho FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Diguinho de Senna was slow to take the kick. During this time CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's players had a chance to rest. The corner led CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Diguinho de Senna to fire away a dangerous shot which Jairo Calçada despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Minho FC's goalkeeper Jairo Calçada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Leite in the 46th minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Jonathan da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lisandro Leite stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Álvaro Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A nice corner shot did that Diguinho de Senna got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jairo Calçada quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Danilo Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jairo Calçada having to interfere. Cássio França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Cortez came free, but Jonathan da Fonseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Calçada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio França in the 90th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cássio França got free with Jairo Calçada in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Túlio Hermes hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Minho FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
