Luis Aravena started the match with the kick off. Jo Maerschalcx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Aravena in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Floris Van Glabeeke in the 14th minute of play forced Magallanes's goalkeeper Tomás Las Casas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Las Casas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kim Van Gysel in the 17th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Jo Maerschalcx successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Hipolito Fritz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jo Maerschalcx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lino Bombal took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jo Maerschalcx. Jo Maerschalcx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some careless play in the SK Dreigoten defense, Luis Aravena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jo Maerschalcx. The SK Dreigoten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jo Maerschalcx should have stopped the shot. Lino Bombal lost his temper 30 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Magallanes's Tomás Las Casas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sam Roelants in the 34th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Antonio Mackenzie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

After 56 played minutes Magallanes got a freekick which was hit by Luis Aravena. A collision led to Magallanes getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Antonio Mackenzie hit a great ball. If Luis Aravena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sam Roelants fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SK Dreigoten's protests and gave Sam Roelants a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SK Dreigoten's Sam Roelants got a free kick in the 71st minute. 73 minutes into the match, Magallanes's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Roelants came free, but Tomás Las Casas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes SK Dreigoten got a freekick which was hit by Sam Roelants. In the 76th minute, Elias Van de Velde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jo Maerschalcx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Aravena in the 77th minute of play. Emilio Formoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Jo Maerschalcx stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luis Aravena's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. 90 minutes had been played when some careless play by SK Dreigoten's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luis Johnson was slow to take the kick. During this time Magallanes's players had a chance to rest. 92 minutes into the match, SK Dreigoten's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Aravena came free, but Jo Maerschalcx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
