After 8 played minutes OTTO FC - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Peixoto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lawrence Gonzi in the 18th minute of play forced OTTO FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Cafu Linares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Noel Trapani during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the OTTO FC - FSCMZ defense, Luke Abdilla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cafu Linares. The OTTO FC - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cafu Linares should have stopped the shot. Noel Trapani was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Noel Trapani got a free kick in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dênis Prata to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of OTTO FC - FSCMZ booed when Templars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Meilak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Demicoli made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Dênis Prata sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Templars FC had won after a very even match.
