The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cafu Linares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Olgierd Ochylski kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Geovanni Sabóia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 24th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Waldemar Klimkiewicz. ACR SA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 30th minute, Mateo Pession left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdir Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edgard Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Waldemar Klimkiewicz having to interfere. Gustaw Kochanowski's late challenge caught a OTTO FC - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valdir Magalhães took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldemar Klimkiewicz. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Pirani during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. OTTO FC - FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olgierd Ochylski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The ACR SA fans cheered their team off the field, for while OTTO FC - FSCMZ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
