Sergio Romeri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duško Turnšek, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. HIT Gorica's Istok Šabotić was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sergio Romeri in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Duško Turnšek managed to get in a good position for a shot. HIT Gorica's supporters rose to their feet, but Duško Turnšek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Romeri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute, Sebastian Tello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Duško Turnšek came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the HIT Gorica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duško Turnšek couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Bahía é Carnaval's Desiderio Demario ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Konstantin Pančur. Konstantin Pančur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Duško Turnšek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Sergio Romeri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Bahía é Carnaval's Desiderio Demario ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Konstantin Pančur. Konstantin Pančur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Quentin Willmott hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Uriel Chorche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bahía é Carnaval's Sergio Romeri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatko Goričan in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Desiderio Demario was the one to do the kick off. Zlatko Goričan struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Sergio Romeri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HIT Gorica. 57 minutes into the match, HIT Gorica's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Demario came free, but Konstantin Pančur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CJ Desailly hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 66th minute, Ceferino Miro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Konstantin Pančur was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Brite McCreadys short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Sergio Romeri to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Sergio Romeri managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when HIT Gorica's Brite McCready fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Istok Šabotić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. HIT Gorica's Slawomir Gargasz was substituted for Constantino Eguntsenti. HIT Gorica made a substitution. Wlodzimierz Wlodyga replaced Jernej Petrovič. Bahía é Carnaval's Igor Cordara was substituted for Ceferino Miro. If Luis Iban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergio Romeri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brite McCready in the 93rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle.
